Maria Athanasiou

Designer/Patternmaker 

For more than 15 years, Maria has designed and created swimwear and sportswear patterns for many of the major New York City fashion companies such as Ann Taylor, Liz Clairborne, Vogue Patterns, and McCalls Patterns.  Maria’s expertise lies in simplifying the difficult construction of complicated pieces and in writing specifications for technical instruction packages designated for production lines. 

Maria is currently working on developing a line of patterns for stuffed animals which will be easy to make at home.  These creations will be a perfect gift for that special grandchild or child.  Maria receives great joy in creating characters for her own grandchildren and can’t wait to share this joy with you.
